Great news for all soul fans, Ronnie Canada is joining up with the New Bluenotes.
As the original lead singer who joined when Teddy Pendergrass left to go solo, Ronnie Canada was asked to fill his shoes as the lead vocalist, but after legal wranglings they could not continue with the Bluenotes name so became the 80s group releasing the new ‘Bluenotes’ album as Caviar which went on to be a worldwide selling album.
Now Ronnie has the chance to do some unfinished business and as an original Bluenote some 30 years ago, can now restart this band’s place in soul music history and entertain a new audience with some of the most iconic songs from the heyday of Bluenotes soul music, plus with a list of new music can put the Bluenotes firmly on the map again.
Check out the group’s interview for TV
The New Blue Notes are in the studio, I had the privilege of interviewing them and then got to hear them perform, and I have to say that you do not want to miss this concert they have this Saturday. What an amazing group they are and be sure to stick around and listen to the studio performance they did.
